What appliances are MealMates designed for?
MealMates are formulated specifically for slow cookers and pressure cookers. These sealed cooking environments allow the seasoning to fully bloom and balance over time.

Can I use MealMates on the stovetop?
No.
MealMates are not designed for stovetop cooking. Stove-top use will produce different results and may cause flavor imbalance.

Why can’t I use them on the stove?
Stovetop cooking releases heat and steam, requires stirring, and doesn’t allow flavors to integrate properly. MealMates are built for sealed, sustained heat, which creates balanced, rounded flavor without babysitting the pot.

Why is there so much seasoning in one pack?
Each pack contains a high-load blend designed to dilute and integrate over time during sealed cooking. This ensures deep, consistent flavor not surface seasoning.

Will the food taste salty or over-seasoned?
No when prepared as directed. The seasoning is balanced to bloom and mellow during slow or pressure cooking. Using other cooking methods may cause flavors to hit too aggressively.

Do I need to add anything besides meat?
Typically, you’ll add protein and liquid (such as broth or water) as listed on the packet. No extra seasoning is required.
